New Strategic Relationship Extends Synplicity's ASIC Synthesis Software Offering
Faraday Technology Delivers Library Support for Synplicity's ASIC Synthesis Software
SUNNYVALE, Calif. & HSINCHU, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27,
2002--Synplicity, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNP - News), a leading supplier of software
for the design and verification of semiconductors, today announced
Faraday Technology Corporation (Taiwan OTC: 5404), a leader in ASIC
design service, now supports Synplicity's Synplify ASIC® synthesis
software in its ASIC design tool kit. Libraries for the Synplify ASIC
software are accessible on Faraday's Web site at
http://www.faraday.com.tw. With this announcement, Synplicity now
offers its customers ASIC vendor support in Asia, Europe, Japan and
North America.
"We provide our customers with library kits that work with tools
in their ASIC design flow," said George Hwang, vice president at
Faraday Technology. "We believe the Synplify ASIC software will fit
nicely into our customers' design flow and enable them to achieve
higher design success. We have seen an increasing demand for the
Synplify ASIC software from our customers over the past months and are
pleased to announce today our support for the software."
"Faraday Technology is one of the top ASIC vendors, and its
support of the Synplify ASIC software represents a significant step
for our ASIC synthesis solution," said Andy Haines, vice president of
marketing at Synplicity. "In the one year since its introduction we
have seen an enthusiastic response from the industry for our Synplify
ASIC software. We have established strategic relationships with many
ASIC vendors to support our customers around the globe. With Faraday
Technology's library support for our Synplify ASIC software, we
believe we can now meet the demands of our customers in Asia with
local ASIC vendor support."
Other ASIC vendors supporting the Synplify ASIC software include
AMI Semiconductor, Chip Express, Fujitsu, Lightspeed Semiconductor and
Oki Semiconductor. The Synplify ASIC software also features support
from major library vendors including Artisan Components and Virtual
Silicon.
About the Synplify ASIC Software
Introduced in June 2001, Synplicity's Synplify ASIC software is
the industry's first ASIC synthesis product optimized to improve
productivity for the majority of ASIC designers. The software
leverages the company's proven synthesis technology, delivers high
quality of results and features order of magnitude runtime
improvements -- up to 15 times faster than traditional synthesis
products. The Synplify ASIC software offers a scalable and flexible
methodology for high-complexity ASIC design -- the MultiPoint(TM)
synthesis design methodology -- enabling designers to perform complete
design optimization with fast runtimes and high quality of results.
Pricing and Availability
The Synplify ASIC software is available now for Linux (Red Hat
7.1), HP-UX 11.0, Sun Solaris 2.7/2.8, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000
operating systems. A perpetual license of the Synplify ASIC software
lists for $115,000 (U.S.). A one-year time-based license of the
Synplify ASIC software lists for $69,000 (U.S.).
Customers interested in evaluating the software can do so with
Synplicity's "Express Evaluation" toolkit, which enables a designer to
complete a four-step evaluation of the software, including
installation and training, within a day. The toolkit provides all of
the basic information needed to conduct a hands-on evaluation of the
Synplify ASIC software including an evaluation copy of the software, a
design tutorial, a test case design and all of the necessary design
libraries. The kit is available by contacting your local Synplicity®
sales office.
